Bluejays picking up peanuts that were placed on a tall stump in our back yard.  During this filming we are also visited by a Northern "yellow-shafted" flicker, a bird generally not seen around Texas.

We woke to our first freeze and diligently emptied the frozen ice from our bird baths and replaced with nice warm water.  This made us the most popular spot in Denton! :-)



One week since rescuing the baby dove.  His feathers are looking much fuller.  We are still feeding him the formula and introducing him to seeds that our local dove community enjoy.  He is starting to peck at them but hasn't successfully eaten one...yet.
